2025 – 2026: EDI
eMartin Dance is partnering with Amez Dance to create a community of early career dance leaders in the Twin Cities. The goal of Emerging Artis Innovators (EDI) is to encourage a space for networking, learning and professional development. We will focus on sustainable business practices and community building to nurture the future of dance in our community.
2024: MNIDF
eMartin Dance partnered with Dance Projects by ME for the 2024 Minnesota International Dance Festival. As a community partner we sponsored the national guest artists from the Cambodian diaspora: Wattanak Dance Troupe, Khmae Urban Ballet, and Roza Lay.
It was an honor to provide artist stipends and housing for these talented artists, and support greater access to diverse cultural programming to Minnesotans.
This engagement was supported by the Arts Midwest GIG Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
2023: Empowered Movement
eMartin Dance partnered with Women’s Advocates to support the pilot program Empowered Movement in 2023. This workshop designed by Erika Martin uses the creative process to provide self-care tools, support, and empower advocates through movement. Dance has power to nurture and heal, and these trauma informed workshops share this with IPV/SA survivor advocates that experience secondary trauma in their work.
2017: Arts in Action
Co-sponsored by Eclipse, Conn Dance Club, Umoja, and QPOC, this community action event was held in response to sociopolitical events in the form of arts making. The event invited dancers, writers, poets, musicians, actors, filmmakers, visual artists and more to join in an improvisational process and create together. Our arts forms are the tools we have to fight injustice.
