Carmen Lucia Lincoln is a Mexican artist based in Miní Sóta Makhóčhe. Meli holds a MA from Colorado State University. She has combines her work in tourism with dance to promote preservation and access of cultural activities that empower the local communities. Her dance research focused on contempo-modern, Cuban-afro-modern, jazz, Mayan Prehispanic, and Yorchhā. Meli explores movement through the connection between the emotional – physical body, honoring the voice of her ancestral lineaage as she creates work that invites reflection on the problems face by women and immigrants. Meli is the co-founder of Dance Projects by ME and founder of Terra Matter Experiences.
Nancy Julia Hicks is a non-binary installation and performance artist, printmaker, educator, and poet. They are a recent graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and are currently based out of Minneapolis, MN. They’ve exhibited work in group and solo shows on MCAD’s campus, including I want to live under you (solo, 2018) and A Pressing Matter (group, 2017) and off campus at The Soap Factory (3×5 residency, 2016), Highpoint Center for Printmaking (2019), and other locations. Their work currently investigates and negotiates familial histories, white supremacy, and their own body. They collaborated with Erika Martin to create build/capture 1823-2019 (CollabArts Vol.2, 2019, eARThing Productions 2020, DanceBARN Film Festival 2020).
